St Albans, Hertfordshire, Benedictine abbey of St Alban: 'Hunc librum dedit domnus Willelmus [W. de Trumpington, 1214–1235] abbas Deo et ecclesie Sancti Albani quem qui ei abstulerit aut titulum deleuerit aut quacumque translacionis specie ab ecclesia memorata alienauerit. anathema sit. Amen.' (s. xiii in.); followed in the same hand by 'C 7 liber 6' (s. xv). (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).
